Ron Lloyd, RA, NCARB
President and Founder

Founder and president of RDL Architects, Ron’s integrity, vision and leadership have attracted a remarkable team of talented and accomplished professionals. For more than 24 years as managing principal, Ron stays involved, invested and interactive ensuring the highest goals set forth by our clients continue to be achieved across the multidisciplinary business. Ron’s unyielding respect of people and environment incorporated with his innovative planning and design influence continues to serve the present and future, opening opportunities for clients, staff and communities across the country.




Margaret Kavourias, AICP, Urban Planner
Placemaking Director

Margaret’s vision and leadership over the past 15 years are key elements in the continued growth of RDL Architects’ multidisciplinary practice. As Director, Margaret manages a dedicated team of planners, urban and graphic designers, and funding application processes across multiple states ensuring accurate timely submissions for our clients. Margaret has been a guest lecturer at The Ohio State University, Cleveland State University, the AHF Live! Conference, the American Planning Association Northeast Ohio Planning & Zoning Workshop and the OKI Conference.



Joanne Horton
Residential Director

Joanne proficiently leads a team of dedicated architects and planners to ensure each project delivers exceptional value to our clients and the communities they serve. Joanne holds a dual master’s degree in business administration and architecture from Kent State University and has more than 10 years of experience in design management of multi-family and mixed-use communities. Joanne has been an adjunct professor of architectural design and structural engineering courses at Kent State University and is an active guest critic for the university’s graduate design studio.



Howard Shergalis, RA, LEED AP
Principal, Senior Living Director

Howard has more than 30 years of leadership and experience in the Senior Living industry. As Studio Director, he manages a dedicated team of planners and architects through the complex and multi-use projects for clients. His strengths and ability to communicate and anchor collective vision in realities of architectural technology, budgets, schedules, and government requirements continues to bring value to communities across the country.  Howard is a regular guest speaker at state and national conferences on the advancement of quality senior living facilities through innovative design.



Lisa Elton
Commercial Director

Credentials, experience and leadership opened the path for Lisa’s appointment to Commercial Director in 2019 where she now successfully manages a talented team of designers and architects, budgets, operations and work production.  Her management philosophy is founded on building strong client relationships. Her practice encourages collaboration, efficiency, problem solving and distinguished design solutions. Lisa’s design portfolio includes multiple awards of excellence including NAIOP Renovation of the Year, Best Multifamily Development, Best Urban Infill Development, and Award of Excellence for Affordable Senior Housing.



Katalin Signs 
Interior Design Director

As Interior Design Director Katalin’s leadership qualities inspire and empower creativity and innovation. Seven years of experience in accounting and over seven years of experience designing interiors balances her mindfulness of budgets and timelines with beauty and timeless design. Katalin holds a Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from the Art Institute of Colorado as well as Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master’s in Business Administration from University of Dayton. She builds trusting relationships with clients, contributing from the project’s conceptual design phase to construction documents.



Mark Poltorek, CSI

Mark’s acumen for good judgment, decision making and detailed project management from concept to completion forms the cornerstone of his leadership at RDL Architects. Mark recognizes that solid client relationships are the foundations of RDL’s business success and over the span of his 20-year career at RDL has formed partnerships with clients nationwide. Mark’s commitment to the integrity of relationship and architecture is strongly reflected through a quote he shares often: “When we build, let us think that we build forever.” -John Ruskin



David Parrish, RA, LEED AP
Principal, Business Development Director

David has more than 30 years of experience leading design, development, and construction teams of multiple award-winning projects nationally.  His areas of expertise in both large-and small-scale projects include mixed-use, retail, multi-family, office, hospitality and restaurants.  David’s long-term relationships spanning the design and construction industries, have garnered him invested trust and that trust of relationship continues to be a major contributor to the annual growth and expansion of RDLs portfolio across all five studios of our practice.



Jim Neville

An accomplished architect and exemplary leader, for over 35 years Jim has held prestigious executive level positions including 15 years as president and managing principal of Neville Architects. In 2016 his firm and expertise in the field of industrial architecture merged with RDL Architects where he continues to practice today. Jim serves on a host of boards including Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital for Rehabilitation, and as Trustee for Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Jim holds an MBA from Cleveland State University and BA in architecture from Western Reserve University.



Haley Christopher
Vice President, Operations 

Positioned as Vice President of Operations, Haley works to align strategic planning across the RDL business components, oversees daily business operations for optimum efficiency, develops and executes operations processes, and regulates operations policies.  Her responsibilities also involve establishing departmental budgets to maximize revenue, and cost reductions through frequent evaluation and analysis of productivity.  Haley continues to stay actively involved in the Interior Design Studio practice.
