RDL Architects Welcomes Experienced Building Code & Regulatory Architect, Michael Wildermuth
May 26, 2015 – RDL Architects is pleased to announce that Michael Wildermuth, AIA has joined its team as a Senior Project Manager. Michael brings more than 30 years of expert understanding of design implications from a building code, regulatory and environmental requirement perspective.
He has a strong technical administrative background with particular emphasis on code compliance, constructability and construction project administration. Throughout his career, Michael has managed architecture and construction services and personnel, as well as provided programming, design, code analysis, contract documents, construction administration and interior design services for a variety of public and private sector clients.
“Michael accurately understands and predicts the impact of design changes on a building’s compliance, and even more importantly, offers creative and effective alternative solutions,” said Ron Lloyd, founder and president of RDL Architects. “We‘re privileged Michael has joined RDL and that our clients will benefit from his extensive knowledge and expertise.”
Because of his reputation and experience as a state and International Code Council (ICC) certified Master Plans Examiner and Code Official, Michael has taught building codes and standards classes at Ursuline College and has served as an expert witness in court actions. Additionally, he actively works with the Chicago office of ICC on complex code interpretations and was the first architect to work with ICC to interpret the original version of the IBC codes in an actual plan review for senior living.
Wildermuth received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The Ohio State University and is a registered architect and master plans examiner in the state of Ohio.
