May 20, 2015 – RDL Architects is pleased to receive awards for three of its retail projects at the annual Awards of Excellence on Wednesday, May 13th. Presented by NAIOP Northern Ohio Chapter, the annual program recognizes the best projects, real estate transactions and individual performance during the previous year in the commercial real estate industry in Northern Ohio.
RDL Architects were awarded the following projects:
Retail Traveling Gun, Renovation of the Year
One of Chicago’s most distinctive structures, and a reminder of the lakefront’s industrial past, the old Pugh Terminal Warehouse was originally built over a 100 years ago. Successfully incorporating the design components is essential in the functionality of the Pinstripes business, making it a compelling and exciting entertainment venue for all ages and seasons. The design called for re-use of as many of the existing finishes as possible creating a handsomely rustic atmosphere with a fresh new look and feel.
Retail Traveling Gun, Architectural Design of the Year
The Alpharetta store design and plan orients the building for highest visibility from the perimeter roads, embraces and embellished the upscale market center, and made efficient use of the 12,500 square foot space in elegant style. The overall dramatic design both blends naturally into the existing palate of the Avalon Lifestyle Center, bringing a fresh and compelling influence to the market and retaining a strong identity and independently unique presence.
Retail Traveling Gun, Interior Design of the Year
Each Arhaus store is a powerful sensory experience of eclectic luxury furnishings. The North Dallas store explodes with daring use of custom and reclaimed woods and tile, tempered glass, lighting, and stone work, bringing an overall fresh influence to the upscale market area. The unique interior vision is layered and distinctive, traditional, sustainable and forward-thinking. The showrooms employ a variety of textures in backgrounds which displays the furniture and boast rich finishes.
