RDL Architects was engaged by the Sisters of Notre Dame and the Jennings Center for Older Adults to develop a master plan that would add market rate Independent Living, Memory Care Assisted Living, and a Senior Center to their existing campus. The Sisters wished to provide replacement housing for the current Sisters, which would be part of the new campus, but closely connected to the existing community.

The 122,500 s.f., three-story apartment building includes 80 one and two bedroom suites, as well as a basement level 80 car parking garage. Half of the units will initially be dedicated to the Sisters of Notre Dame and, to honor their wish to remain integrated with the existing campus, a one-story enclosed walkway provides a connection to the existing Chapel. The main level of the apartment building includes a two-story formal dining room and café, adjacent to a full-service commercial kitchen. Other amenities include a multi-purpose room, fitness room, art center, library, media room and prayer room.

The new memory care includes three, one-story houses of 12 residents each. Each household will include its own living, dining and resident support spaces, as well as its own distinct front entrance. With its proximity to the campus, the houses have the additional convenience of direct, indoor connections to amenities such as the chapel and beauty salon, as well as to shared staff service areas.
