Bradford House Memory Care
Ashland, OH

This project called for plans to convert three attached cottage apartments for independent seniors into one group home for residents with early- to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia. Bradford House is now architecturally designed for seniors who can no longer live safely in their homes and need 24-hour supervision, but do not require the care of a skilled nursing facility.

Project Highlights:

  • Five-bedroom, five-bathroom ranch home
  • Private visiting room
  • Shared living room
  • Shared kitchen and dining room where meals are prepared and eaten together family style
  • Memory considerations, such as the orientation of restrooms, a walking garden and patio protected by a totally enclosed fence, gently alarmed exits and guestrooms, and a locked medication room
