The aesthetic character of The Old Mill Shops suggest a streetscape linkage of urban storefronts. The rhythm and patter of cornice lines, façade heights, overhead sun screens and awnings are punctuated by feature towers which mark sequential cadences along a retail path. The uniform treatment of storefront glazing with balanced spacing of mullions, the use of masonry piers as a language of building form to denote individual “shops” along a streetscape, and the use of a warm neutral color palette as a back drop to individual shop identities.
